ABOUT US

Reimagining Renovation.

With buildings accounting for a significant share of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, large-scale renovation efforts are necessary to meet climate targets.

Despite advancements, renovation remains costly, slow and difficult.

To address these challenges, RENOMIZE seeks to industrialize and automate key processes in building renovation, making deep retrofits faster, more cost-effective, and widely accessible.

Drawing on the expertise of research institutions, technology providers, and construction companies, we aim to demonstrate our solutions in four pilots across Europe (Estonia, Switzerland, and Belgium) as well as conduct disruptiveevent testing campaigns in Switzerland and Spain.

We improve renovations
of prefabricated building.

Our Objectives

  • by innovating design, automation, and assembly, including advanced panel connections, anchoring systems, and autonomous installation tools.

  • by integrating process and product improvements, reducing costs, labour demands, and occupant disturbance while improving efficiency.

  • across various building types to validate reductions in noise, dust, costs, and project timelines while increasing stakeholder acceptance.

  • by making innovations accessible, supporting companies with technological assistance, and increasing renovation rates through training.

The Consortium

RENOMIZE is a Horizon Europe project running from January 2025 to December 2028. Coordinated by the Austrian organization Joanneum Research, the project brings together 13 partners from 9 European countries.
